    Hi,

I’m trying to balance my own safety with making an honest/genuine connection and I’ve read, often, that giving your real: name, phone number, etc. isn’t advised for safety reasons. However, it feels strange to have a relationship with someone and not have them know your real info. Also, if we end up travelling together he’s going to find out, and know a lot more! I would take lying from an SD as a red flag so it seems a bit hypocritica for me to lie, myself. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience as to how they balance safety and honesty? Or any opinions from an SD? Thanks.

In my opinion you can lie at the beggining and when you become intimate or closer you can explain him that you lied for your safety, if he likes you and respects you he will obviously understand.
