Summer is here and boy is it about to get HOT! Here’s where to go and what to do in Europe this summer.
Europe is full of culture and packs immense diversity. Europe has it all. Hot climates and the more mild. Ancient history and modern. Bustling cities and cute countrysides.
Italy is one of my most favourite countries in the world. The food, the people, the language, the history, the weather; need I go on? Top places to visit are Turin, Milan, Venice, and Rome. In Turin, you will find beautiful cafés and restaurants, as well as the famous Mole, which is the tallest museum in the world. It is a motion picture museum and it is incredible. Milan is a fashion capital so get ready to shop. Brands such as Versace, Cavalli and Armani are Italian. Venice is an aquatic city. Here, you can walk down narrow cobble-stoned streets lined with waterways and bridges. Venice is full of beautiful bridges. You can enjoy the beauty of St. Mark’s Square and walk your way through a sea of friendly (and not so friendly!) pigeons.
Finally, Rome is Italy’s capital and it is full of history. The Colosseum is a must-see. The Colosseum was the entertainment venue of the day. Here, gladiators fought each other and exotic animals to entertain the masses. The Colosseum is the biggest amphitheatre ever built. My favourite thing to do is to simply walk down sun-scorched cobble stones while enjoying delicious gelato (ice-cream).
Spain is a country full of heat and spice. The people are warm and so is the weather. Expect passion in all areas; people, food and entertainment. Visit cities like Barcelona and Madrid. Or visit paradise islands such as Majorca. Visit the beautiful beaches, where you can relax and sunbathe until your heart’s content.
France has so much to offer. From Paris, the fashion capital. In Paris you can shop till you drop to Brittany. Brittany is a quaint, historic region. Cannes is where you are surrounded by beautiful water horizons and yachts.
Malta is a beautiful country people may overlook. It is a stunning Mediterranean country. Being a small island, you are never far from the sea and beautiful beaches. Valetta is the capital and it has many great places to shop and Paceville is the nightlife centre. It is vibrant and full of great clubs and bars.
Ireland is a magical place and presents as the perfect place to’t for you. I’m sure you celebrate all things Irish every March 17th but have you ever visited? Dublin is Ireland’s capital and it is known as the country’s fair city. Walk down famous streets such as O’Connell Street and Grafton Street, and take a stroll through St. Stephen’s Green and Phoenix Park. Phoenix Park is the largest park in Europe and it is also where the President of Ireland lives. Visit the Leprechaun Museum (yes, I’m serious, it exists!) and have a pint of Guinness in the Guinness Brewery. This brewery is Ireland’s most visited tourist attraction.
Galway is another fantastic city in Ireland. You may be familiar with this place name due to the popular Ed Sheeran song ‘‘Galway Girl’’. Galway is a magical place, full of romance and folklore. Visit the many shops on Shop Street and walk along the beautiful Salthill Promenade, where the Atlantic Ocean rules the waters.
